SPRINGFIELD — Have any extra cans laying around? At 6:35 today, the Springfield Drifters host Food for Lane County night at Hamlin Park. Here, the Drifters are offering half priced tickets in exchange for three cans, and full free admission for six per person.
Once admitted, fans will be treated to the series-closing game between the Springfield Drifters and Bend Elks. This is the final game of the Drifters second series of the 2025 season, after going 1-2 in their first series against the Walla Walla Sweets.
Drifters fans can rest easy knowing their food will be going to their community members in need. After the event, FFLC will take all proceeds to be checked for safety and redistributed throughout Lane County.
This isn’t the first time the Drifters have partnered with FFLC, as this past February, the team sponsored a major event.
“The Drifters, they’ve been a really great partner and supporter of ours,” Caitlin Caldwell of FFLC said. “They were our title sponsor this year for our grilled cheese experience, which takes place over the whole month of February. So that was kind of, I believe, the start of that relationship, and it’s just been a really great ongoing one from there.”
As their partnership continues to grow, the question isn’t if they’ll do more events together, the question is what will they be.
“Now we’re just looking at unique ways to keep that relationship going. So we’re really excited about the food drive at the game component (this) week,” Caldwell said.
