SPRINGFIELD – It’s likely the biggest signing in Drifters history: Connor Molony – a standout pitcher at Thurston High School – will be joining the team for their fourth season.
The right-hander has been on two Class 5A state championship teams with the Colts, who are ranked third in the state this season. He is committed to the University of Oregon.
Joining Molony on the pitching staff are Kaden Starr (RHP), University of Portland and Blake Stavros (RHP), Bushnell University. Also signed recently is Sam Weber, an infielder from Lewis & Clark College.

Coaching staff moves
• The Drifters’ new coaching staff is led by Jeff Lyle, with pitching coach Dean Stiles and assistant coach Matt Hubbs. Lyle said getting consistent talent on the mound would be crucial to the team’s success this year as the Drifters attempt to make their first playoff appearance.
