SPRINGFIELD – On March 24, the Springfield Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit collaborated with loss prevention teams from local businesses to conduct a retail theft operation, which led to the arrest of 34 individuals for various theft-related offenses.
During the operation, officers recovered over 150 stolen items, valued at nearly $3,000, all of which were returned to their rightful owners.
SPD said it has been actively engaging in retail theft missions over the past year and plans to continue partnering with area retailers to combat this issue.
