Fire forces Grove’s ‘Breakfast on the Mountain’ to move

COTTAGE GROVE — The 60th  annual Miner’s Breakfast on the Mountain has been moved from Bohemia Saddle Park to Cottage Grove High School tomorrow, July 21 at 6 a.m. due to the Lane 1 Fire, which has burned 381 acres as of July 20.
According to Cindy Weeldreyer, forest services closed down the roads that roughly 1,000 people might have driven to attend the miner’s breakfast.
“The mountain roads are quite narrow, and it was just too great of (a risk),” said Weeldreyer.
The event will continue as advertised with its usual menu: endless pancakes, two eggs, ham, orange juice, and coffee. Adults are $12, children are $9, and kids 3 and under eat free.
