Scot Davis: April 8, 1957-May 11, 2024

Scot Collins Davis, 67, of Springfield, Ore. passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on May 11, 2024. Scot is remembered for his unwavering positivity, resilience, vibrant sense of humor, and compassionate, loving heart.

Scot was a triplet, born in April 1957, with siblings Mark and Kim to Robert (Bobby) and Angeline Nave in Springfield, Ore.The triplets surprised their expectant parents; they were the first triplets born at McKenzie-Willamette Hospital and were sponsored by Gerber.

Scot was a friend to all, constantly making new friends and connections. His zest for life was infectious; he touched everyone with his genuineness and positivity. Scot was a man of adventure and pursued his passions for skiing, fishing, golfing, and camping until the very end of his battle with cancer.

However, his greatest joy was fatherhood to his son, Robin Davis. Scot and Robin were not just father and son but best friends, sharing many activities like skiing, snowboarding, and golfing together. This bond, a testament to Scot’s loving nature, is his most treasured legacy. He was a loving family member and exceptional father, dedicating his adult life to giving his son every opportunity. Scot lived life to the fullest and inspired many others to do the same.

Scot found a love for cooking early and shared his gifts for nearly 50 years: “I feel so lucky to be doing what I love.” His passion as a chef began (at age 18) and ended in Springfield. After a long career at the Busy Bee Café, he recently worked at the Texas Roadhouse in Eugene.

His career as a chef took him to exotic locations such as Kona, Hawaii, at King Kamehameha and Dorian’s, followed by 15 years on deep-sea fishing vessels in Alaska and the Bering Sea.

Scot was a member of the Chickasaw Indian Nation (Oklahoma). He was also proudly rooted in the recovery/AA community for decades and championed many to live healthy, alcohol-free lives.

Scot’s spirit is carried on by his son Robin Davis, daughter-in-law Rachel Davis, and granddaughters Finley and Sage; triplet sister Kim Marcucci; partner Toni Massey; aunts Neatha Stynes and Laverne Kilborn; cousin Ryan Stynes; nephew Michael Donofrio, and niece Carla Munns; step-brother Jack Davis, and great-nieces and nephews. Scot and Kim’s parents, brother Mark, and niece Angela Britt preceded Scot in peace.

We warmly invite all who knew and loved Scot to a celebration of his life on June 23, 2024, from 1-4 p.m. at Hendricks Bridge County Park, 38870 Hendricks Park Rd, Springfield. This family-style gathering is a special opportunity to honor Scot’s memory and share stories of his remarkable journey. We encourage you to bring a dish to share as we remember this inspiring man.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation in Scot’s name are requested: mbsef.org.
