Mary Patricia “Patty” Breeden Furrer was born on April 14, 1928, in Malta, Mont. She died March 14, 2024 at her home in Creswell. She was the daughter of Clara Foley Breeden and Thomas Breeden. In 1928, the family relocated to the Willamette Valley, settling in Veneta.
She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Eugene. She married Donald Furrer on Aug. 12, 1948, and worked in banking at the Community Bank of Creswell for over 20 years.
Survivors include four daughters: Madaline Hemphill and Norine McClary, both of Eugene, and Michelle Glass and Colleen Tunnell, both of Creswell; one son, Paul Furrer, of Creswell; brother, John Breeden, of Eugene; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, Donald Furrer; grandson, Gavin McClary; four sisters; and three brothers. A private interment occurred at Creswell Pioneer Cemetery. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, March 22nd at 1:00pm at the Creswell Presbyterian Hall (75 S 4th St, Creswell, OR 97426). Arrangements in the care of Smith Lund Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
