James Lewis Noble

James Lewis Noble, 87, a lifetime resident of Creswell, Ore. passed away in Eugene, Ore. on Feb. 23, 2024. Jim was born Dec.10, 1936 in Wabash, Ind. to William and Edith (Norton) Noble.  Jim started working for Southern Pacific Railroad after high school and retired as a Switchman working there 42 years.

Jim married Ada (Carothers) in 1973 and they celebrated 50 years of marriage in May of 2023. Together they raised two daughters, Rhonda (Rick) Worley of Cottage Grove, Ore. and Denise (Dwayne) Dockery of Madill, Okla. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Ryan (Stephanie) Tilley of Ardmore, Okla., Dustin (Tiffany) Tilley of Ravia, Okla., Zachary Worley of Springfield, Ore., Lisa (Josh) Orange of Madill, Okla. and David Dockery of Madill, Okla., and five great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Robert Brownell and Donald Brownell.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel. Arrangements in care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel, Cottage Grove, Ore. Interment will be at Fir Grove Cemetery.
