SPRINGFIELD – The Drifters, a summer collegiate wood-bat baseball team playing at the Hamlin Sports Complex, released its upcoming schedule that includes a June 4 home opener against Yakima and home games against seven-time and reigning West Coast League champion Corvallis on June 21 and 23.
Springfield finished 22-32 overall last year, missing the playoffs in its second season. Heading into year three, the team hopes to build upon its pitching successes last year, and improve the offense.
The Drifters open the season at Yakima on May 31-June 2, before consecutive home series against Yakima and Bend on June 4-9.
The WCL plays its All-Star Game on July 17. The Drifters end the season with a three-game series against the Bellingham Bells on Aug. 5-7.
