COTTAGE GROVE — The Oregon Mayors Association annual competition to increase youth’s awareness of the significance of local government for students in Grades 4-12 is underway, with the deadline looming for kids to submit their entries. Tuesday, March 14 at 5 p.m. is the deadline.
Youth in 4th and 5th grades can enter a poster contest. Middle School students can submit an essay. High School students can compete using digital media. The contest offers winners cash prizes at the local and state level. The City of Cottage Grove’s Youth Advisory Council plans to schedule a meeting in February with local mayors to learn more about what they do. More info: 541-942-5501
