Donald Eugene Toevs, 86, of Cottage Grove, Ore., formerly of Dallas, Ore., passed away Dec. 28, 2022. Donald was born Sept. 9, 1936 in Dallas to parents Robert and Elizabeth (Linscheid) Toevs. After graduating from Dallas High School, Donald went to Oregon College of Education, where he received his master’s degree.
Donald was a coin dealer at the Salem Coin Shop. He was a lifetime member of the Salem Coin Club since 1964, and a member of the Polk County Historical Society, and founding member of the Polk County Coin Club.
Donald is survived by his sister Darlene McGee (Kenneth) of Dexter, Ore. and several nieces and nephews in Oregon and Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Wesley Toevs. There will be no services at this time.
