June 18, 1930 – Oct. 22, 2022
Bea was born in Mason City, Iowa to Rachel Laville and Clyde McKee. She attended Holy Cross School in Mason City through 12th grade.
At age 19, Bea married Robert Bush and moved to Mississippi. They later divorced and she relocated to Huston, Texas. It was there that she met and married Leo Galvin on Jan. 30, 1954. The couple moved to San Francisco, Calif. where they purchased a home and raised their four children. They divorced in 1978 and a short time later, she relocated to the northern California valley, where she remained until moving to Cottage Grove, Ore. in 2007.
She was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker while raising children and worked in a variety of clerical, retail and food service jobs. Bea enjoyed socializing with family and friends, playing games and working puzzles. She enjoyed her church family very much and her faith was very important to her.
Bea joined her two sons, James and Joseph Galvin, and her granddaughter Theresa Todd in Heaven when she passed peacefully in her home.
She is survived by daughter Katie Haynes of Cottage Grove, son John Galvin of San Francisco; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held for Bea on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. at The Old Time Gospel Fellowship at 103 S. 5th St. in Cottage Grove. Attendees are invited to a meal following the service. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
