Lee Hilary Dillon, 82, a longtime resident of Oregon, left this earth for his heavenly home on September 27, 2022. He was born May 10, 1940 in Weiser, Idaho to Elmer and Edna Dillon. Lee was the oldest of seven kids and was the first in his family to graduate from high school. He married his love Marilyn on June 3, 1961 in Lakeview, Ore. They were married for 61 years.
Lee was a building contractor for 35 years, completing over 200 houses in the Eugene and Springfield area. From humble beginnings, he ended up owning several rental properties. Lee loved working on his Seavey Loop farm raising cows, pigs, and a huge garden for over 50 years. Lee drove the hay truck this past summer, determined to get the hay in despite his poor health. He helped countless folks fixing cars, doing lots of home repairs and remodels, and providing funds. Education was important to Lee. He helped siblings, kids, and grandkids graduate with various degrees to follow their educational dreams.
Lee enjoyed traveling with Marilyn to Jamaica, South Africa, Canada, China, and Alaska. He camped and fished with family all over Oregon.
Lee’s interests included hunting, fishing, ranching, coaching Little League baseball and basketball, and sports, especially the Oregon Ducks. He loved to attend whatever his kids and grandkids were doing including school programs, sporting events, graduations, weddings, and welcoming each new baby with big smiles and patty cakes.
Lee’s greatest accomplishment was his family. His quiet faith was shown through actions that are leaving a mighty legacy to his children Kristi (Carl), Tim, and David (Joy), 8 grandkids, Katie, Kelli, Keegan, Zoey, Cymon, Mia, Samuel, and Anna, and 6 great-grandkids, Chase, Bryce, Nathaniel, Andrea, Shelby, and Olivia, plus countless other family and friends.
A life celebration was held on Saturday at his beloved farm with over 80 attending. We love you Papa for your selfless care of us over so many years.
