The week ahead: fall sports

VOLLEYBALL

■ Second-ranked Creswell will look to stay undefeated with a tough week ahead. The Bulldogs host #3 Siuslaw tonight before playing the Salem Academy tournament Saturday. Creswell then returns home on Monday to face #7 Sisters. 

■ Ninth-ranked Pleasant Hill will travel to Harrisburg Monday before returning home to host #6 Scio on Wednesday.

■ Fifteenth-ranked Thurston and Springfield will both travel south on Saturday to face #13 Eagle Point at EPHS and #12 Crater at Scenic Middle School.

■ Cottage Grove has a tough week ahead that includes traveling to face #7 Sisters on Saturday and a home game against top-ranked Marshfield on Tuesday.

BOYS SOCCER

■ Eighth-ranked Springfield will look to continue its three-game win streak as it travels to face #18 Corvallis tonight before hosting 6A #5 Willamette on Tuesday.

■ No. 16 Cottage Grove faces two other ranked teams this week, both home games. The Lions welcome #11 Cascade on Saturday and then #10 North Marion on Tuesday.

■ Thurston will travel twice this week, once on Saturday to face North Bend and again on Wednesday to face 6A #6 Newberg.

■ Pleasant Hill will host Creswell on Monday in a Mountain Valley Conference matchup.

GIRLS SOCCER

■ Eighth-ranked Pleasant Hill will host #14 Central Linn Monday before traveling to face La Pine Wednesday.

■ Tenth-ranked Creswell hosts Elmira on Monday and will travel to #14 Central Linn next Thursday.

■ Cottage Grove has a brutal week ahead where it will face three top 10 teams, all at home. The Lions host #6 Klamath Union tonight, #5 Henley on Saturday and #1 Marshfield next Thursday.

■ Sixth-ranked Thurston looks to stay undefeated as it has three non-league games this week. The Colts play host to West Salem today, hit the road on Saturday to play North Bend, and then return home to face Woodburn on Wednesday.

■ Springfield will play host to 16th-ranked Corvallis tonight before hitting the road to face Willamette on Tuesday.
