■ No. 14 Thurston lost at home to the 11th-ranked 6A Lakeridge Pacers 3-2.
■ No. 11 Pleasant Hill and 12th-ranked Creswell both defeated 16th-ranked Cottage Grove 3-0.
■ Thirteenth-ranked Springfield went on the road to 17th-ranked Corvallis and lost 3-1 before returning home and defeating Willamette 3-1.
BOYS SOCCER
■ Pleasant Hill and Creswell went on the road to play Taft. The Billies won 3-2, and the Bulldogs tied 3-3.
■ Springfield is in the middle of five consecutive away games. The Millers lost at West Albany 2-1 before defeating Silverton 2-1.
GIRLS SOCCER
■ Second-ranked Thurston beat 7th-ranked Ridgeview 1-0 at home, then went on the road and beat 11th-ranked Crescent Valley 2-0.
■ No. 20 Springfield got its first victory of the season, a 3-0 home win against West Albany. The Millers then hit the road and tied 17th-ranked Silverton 1-1.
CROSS COUNTRY
■ Creswell hosted the Creswell Opening 3k on Aug. 30. Kylie Leonard came in fourth for the Bulldog girls with a time of 12:47, Brooke Moehlmann came in 15th with a time of 13:58.2, with Kaylee Gardner just behind her in 17th with a time of 13:58.6. On the boys side, Carson Williamson came in 18th by running 12:01, and Chris Culp finished 31st with his time of 12:39.
■ Cottage Grove and Thurston attended the Ultimook Race. Cottage Grove senior Jaden Owens came in 5th in the boys varsity 1A-4A group with a time of 16:47.1, while his teammate Carter Bengtson came in 9th with a time of 17:00.6. For the Lions girls, Bella Keating came in 14th with a time of 22:01.2. The Colts competed in the 5A-6A group, with top boys performer Nate Glazier coming in 49th with his time of 18:44.3. Top performer for the girls was Breanna Raven, who came in 36th with a time of 21:43.9.
