CRESWELL – Julie Bivens of Creswell and Chris Tough of Cottage Grove were cited Monday, July 19, by LCSO Sgt. Scott Denham for their roles in organizing and participating in a July 4 parade in Creswell.
Bivens is scheduled for Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. in Creswell. She was cited for violating city ordinances prohibiting a parade (CMC 10.30.10) and soliciting or confederating to violate ordinance (CMC 9.05.920). Denham said Tough, who is out of the area, has been contacted. Fines total $2,600 each.
“Tough is aware he will be issued a citation as well,” Denham said. “He will likely be cited into September court.”
Denham also confirmed that no one had applied for a parade permit.
