VFW recognizes Creswell’s Wright

Wright

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Oregon held its 100th Convention in June.

Retiring Auxiliary President Debra Wright (from Creswell VFW Post Auxiliary) and Department Commander George Carroll, each had a successful year, in spite of COVID-19, which required the use of alternative communications and service.

Debra was not the only one with a successful year; our Post and Auxiliary also brought home some awards. The VFW Post, under the leadership of Camren Baker, Commander, received an award for being one of the few posts to receive 100% membership.

The Post, along with its Auxiliary, led by President Penny Gradle, also won awards for Community Service, and for honoring our POW/MIA (Prisoner of War/Missing in Action). The information on the Community Service has been forwarded to the National VFW for consideration for a National award.
