Paul Grant Macauley: May 27, 1939 – May 3, 2021

Paul Grant Macauley, 81, of the Mohawk Valley went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 3, 2021. Paul was born at home in the Lynx Hollow area of Creswell on May 27, 1939 to John Macauley and Jimmie Preuit Macauley. 

He graduated from Cottage Grove High School in 1959, and afterward attended Boise Bible College. He then worked as a timber cutter for Weyerhaeuser, where he worked for 37 years. On Aug. 28, 1960, he married the love of his life, Arlene Aird. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Macauley; his daughters, Anne Macauley and Julie (Andrew) Tow; his son, Philip Macauley; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul took great joy in hunting, shooting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He was most at home in the outdoors, tending to his apple orchard, garden, sheep and yard. He had an excellent memory and loved to tell stories. He worked hard and was generous to all he knew. He was a dutiful family man and a faithful Christian.

A celebration of his life will occur at 1 p.m. on May 22 at Creswell Pioneer Cemetery, 82738 Howe Lane. A gathering for family and friends will follow at Harry Holt Memorial Park, 83200 N. Harvey Road.
