Edith E. Canoy, 90, of Cottage Grove, Ore., passed away on Nov. 9, 2020. Edith was born on Nov. 26, 1929, in Lansford, N.D., to parents Roy and Christina (Nielsen) Pilgrim. She graduated from high school and worked in the medical industry as a certified nursing assistant. Edith married Harry A. Canoy in Corvallis, Ore., on July 30, 1952. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Edith really enjoyed fireworks, gardening, baking and doll making, and she loved animals, especially dogs and cats. She was excellent at recalling historical facts and loved crime shows. Edith had a brilliant sense of morals; she always knew the right thing to do.
Edith had a dry sense of humor and an adventurous personality. One of the many highlights of her life was a trip to Europe in the spring of 1990.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Harry Canoy (2005). She is survived by her daughter Penny L. Haider, Salem, Ore.; son Roger S. Canoy, Eugene, Ore.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cottage Grove Humane Society. A private family funeral was held on Nov. 17, and an interment at IOOF Cemetery, Lebanon, Ore.
