The storm clouds parted and the sun was shining Sunday as Willamalane Park & Recreation District celebrated its 75th anniversary with a sprawling community hoopla at Willamalane Park in Springfield.
The free event drew a large crowd throughout the day, enjoying live music, carnival rides, face painting, axe-throwing and more. Foodtrucks, a beer garden, and VFW Broiler Fest-style chicken were available for attendees to enjoy as well as a mobile video game experience.
