Kat Romig, 16, of Springfield passes by the Uncle Sam hat painted on the Ken Kesey mural on Tuesday, May 21. The mural, located on the east stucco wall of Plank Town Brewing Company on Main Street in Springfield, commemorates renowned author and ”Merry Prankster” Ken Kesey, who grew up in Springfield. Romig will be turning 17 on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27.
