Lowell girls fall to Monroe, 59-35

After earning its second Central Valley Conference win 38-34 over East Linn Christian — behind a 20 point, 10 rebound effort from senior Jenna Martini including 12 fourth quarter points — Lowell dropped a 59-35 Saturday decision at Monroe.
The Red Devils trailed 16-6 after the first quarter, but closed the gap to 28-20 at the half.
Martini opened the third quarter with a basket, but the Lady Dragons responded with eight straight points to open a 36-22 lead.
Monroe was in front 42-28 after three periods.
Martini finished with a 20 point effort.
Kylee Johnson added 10 points, Bethany VonDoloski four points and Katie Chapman and Lucy Plahn two points each.
