Pleasant Hill ran its Mountain Valley League leading girls basketball record to 6-0 with a 57-16 Friday win over visiting Harrisburg.
Coach Stacy Paszkiet said ”the girls are playing well. They are a great group and have good leadership.”
The Billies took a 9-2 lead in the first quarter and pushed it to 17-4 at the break as Angeni Yeo scored six of the final eight points and had 10 in the period.
The lead grew to 28-4 before the Eagles scored in the second quarter. Kaylee Martin scored six of the 11 points including four from the free throw line.
P-Hill led 29-6 at the half.
After Harrisburg closed to 32-14 down, the Billies scored eight straight points, four by Hannah Way to open a 40-14 lead.
The Billies led 42-16 heading into the fourth quarter and blanked the Eagles over the final eight minutes.
Three P-Hill players finished in double figures.
Yeo and Way scored 15 apiece and Martin 11.
Victoria Lewis added seven, Kacie Hoyt five and Alexa Ellis four.
The Billies have a 16-3 season mark.
