Lowell fell to 8-7 overall and 1-4 in league play with a 63-40 girls basketball setback Saturday to visiting Monroe. The Lady Dragons moved to 5-0 in Central Valley Conference play.

A pair of free throws and rebound basket by Jenna Martini cut the lead to 32-22, but Lowell trailed 42-28 after three quarters. Martini scored six points in the period.
Martini was the leading scorer with 12 points. Plahn added 10, Katie Chapman and Letts six each and Kylee Johnson four.
