Two seventh grade Creswell Middle School student athletes have been chosen to compete at the Football University (FBU) Regional Competition on Saturday, Dec. 1 in Tacoma, Wash. If successful there, they could compete at the FBU National Championship later in December in Naples Florida.
Tyler Bowers and JW Cheechov were selected out of 300 athletes in a combine style drill competition. The competition was held in over five locations around the state to become members of the elite FBU Oregon Team comprised of the best seventh grade football athletes in the state.
FBU is a national youth football organization dedicated to advancing the sport of football for middle school athletes in sixth, seventh and eighth grades by providing playing opportunities, college and NFL level coaching and by producing the FBU National Championship held annually in Naples Florida.

Fresh off their thrilling seventh and eighth grade Valley League Championship game where CMS defeated rival Pleasant Hill MS 39-38 in OT, Bowers and Cheechov began training immediately to join their FBU team.
Bowers is a five feet, four inches, and 110 pounds. Bowers is a running back, who is known for his blazing speed and great vision to avoid tackles.
Cheechov is a five feet, seven inches and 180 pounds. He is an offensive lineman who is known for excellent footwork and technique coupled with the strength and ability to drive opponents out of the running backs lane.
