Community Blessing – The Derminer Painting Family

How can such a small community feel so large in my heart? It almost seems like a competition with clients and companies to help families and children in the area. My wife, children and I smile as we see our friends and families bringing in wagons filled with canned food or taking a day off of work to run at the Creslane Jog-A-Thon along the high school track. We are thankful that this is ”The Friendly City” as we see our neighbors at the library book sale or our boys’ friend’s parents covered in dust and paint for the town’s Hope Restored.
Most of all we love our family, but building our house here, in a town where there is a warm community defined, we feel so thankful that this town could make our hearts so big.

I am thankful for Creslane Elementary School’s canned food drive. This year we raised over 8,000 pounds and many people will have more thanksgiving dinner this year. I am always thankful for Thanksgiving dinner too because I get to see my family. Lastly I am thankful for upcoming Christmas.

I am thankful for the community helpers and the Creswell Food Pantry, my family, Creslane for helping kids learn, for the library and their books, and The Creswell Chronicle for putting this in there. Thank you!
