Joe and Natale Sheild, owners of Pig & Turnip in Springfield, recently opened a sister location in Southern Lane County. Officially open for business in April 2018, Pig & Turnip in Cottage Grove has attracted a lot of attention from those who love European cuisine with a unique twist.

Joe and Natalie Sheild gather only the finest, locally sourced ingredients for their menu items, and feature a wide variety of ”German-ish” dishes and sides.
From tasty schnitzel to 100 percent grass-fed beef burgers, Pig & Turnip offers countless delicious meals. Coming this fall, Pig & Turnip is bringing back their delicious and comforting soups, just in time for sweater weather. These popular menu items include broccoli and cheddar, chicken and dumpling, creamy tomato and sausage vegetable.
Pig & Turnip also offers hand-stuffed sausages, featuring high-quality pork. All sausages feature pork raised in the Willamette Valley and are hormone, antibiotic and nitrate free. No fillers, no fuss.
Besides Pig & Turnip, Joe and Natalie Sheild also own and operate Sheild Catering. Sheild Catering has provided amazing bratwurst buffets, potato salads, pretzel platters and many other works of art for weddings, holiday parties and business lunches. Catering delivery is available to residents throughout Southern Lane County. For 15 or 150 people, Sheild Catering just asks for 48 hours advanced notice, as hand-crafted perfection takes time.
