Tigers cruise to victory over Cobras

After dropping a tough game last week at home to the visiting Pleasant Hill Billies 16-19, the Creswell Middle School Tigers travelled to Halsey to face the Central Linn Cobras. After a slow start, the Tigers quickly got rolling and cruised to a 67-26 victory over the shorthanded Cobras.
 Against the Pleasant Hill Billies, offensive leaders for the Tigers included: Conner Hanson, who rushed the ball seven times for 109 yards and one touchdown; Traejon Roberts, who rushed five times for 62 yards and a touchdown; Tyler Bowers, who rushed for 34 yards on four carries; and Maysen Scovil, who rushed for three yards.

Defensive Leaders included: Scovil, who led all defenders with 12 tackles; Roberts, who had nine tackles; Hanson, who had six tackles and a forced fumble; Jack Nguyen, Bowers and Paquette each had three tackles. A handful of other Tigers each recorded a tackle as well. Kayden Roberts also recorded two defended passes and a fumble recovery for the defense.
Against the Central Linn Cobras, offensive Leaders included: Hanson with five rushes for 75 yards and two touchdowns; Nguyen with two carries 24 yards; Bowers with three carries for 75 yards and a touchdown; Roberts with five carries for 123 yards and one touchdown; and Scovil with five carries for eight yards and a touchdown.
Roberts completed four of six passes for 19 yards and a touchdown.
Defensive Leaders included: Nguyen with seven tackles, two sacks, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown; Tyler Bowers with six tackles; Roberts with six tackles and a fumble recovery; Hanson with five tackles; Scovil with five tackles; Paquette with four tackles; Roberts with two tackles and one interception; and JD Upton with one tackle.
Next week the Tigers face Elmira at home, time and location to be decided.
