HAL DEAN LANE – JULY 23, 1926 – OCT. 18, 2018
Hal Dean Lane, 92, of Creswell Passed away Oct. 18, 2018.
Hal was born July 23, 1926, in Hatfield, Ala., to Finn and Viola (Barron) Lane. Hal graduated from Hatfield Alaska High School.
He served two years in the U.S. Army where he received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon, the Army Occupation Ribbon and Victory Ribbon and one overseas Service Bar.
Hal worked for Georgia Pacific for 35 years and retired from there in 1988.
He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing, and he always had a nice garden. Hal loved spending time with his family.
He was a member of the Cottage Grove Bible Church. Hal married Pauline Griffin in 1948, in Waldron, Ala., they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary May 28, 2018.
Hal is survived by his wife, Pauline Lane, Creswell; son, Hal Dwayne (Joanne), Oakridge; daughter, Paula (Paul) Landsiedel, Creswell; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26 at Creswell Cemetery and a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Cottage Grove Bible Church.
