School board implements recommended actions

Creswell School Board was called together in executive session on Monday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. to address complaints or charges brought against a public officer, employee, staff member or agent. One of the respondents of the complaint and his attorney were also in attendance.
After open session reconvened, Director Natalie Smathers made the motion to authorize Chair Board Tim Rogers to implement the recommended actions discussed in executive session to respond to the personnel complaint. Director Dave Eusted seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously.
This motion comes after the hiring of an attorney, which was decided at the Monday, Aug. 13 meeting, and after the motion to hire a third-party investigator to explore the complaint, which was decided at the Friday, July 20 executive session meeting.
An executive, or ”closed” session is closed to the public, but the media is allowed to attend under most circumstances. Though allowed, media does not report on executive sessions, except to state the general subject of the session and the action made outside of executive session.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
