Lowell track teams prepare for upcoming district meet

Lowell had its final track outing prior to the district meet Saturday at McKenzie, traveling over the mountains to a meet at Gilchrist.
Katie Chapman placed in three girls’ events, taking third in the 1500m (5:41.90), fourth in the 800m (2:56.46) and fourth in the 100m hurdles (19.25).
Audra Chapman added a fifth in the high jump (4-4) and seventh in the pole vault (6-0), while Nature Letts placed eighth in the shot put (26-10.75).
The 4x400m relay team was third in 5:13.46.
Thomas Ward took second in the boys’ discus (110-5) and third in the javelin (129-1) and fifth in the shot put (39-4.25).
Nate Roat was fourth in the 100m (12.28) and fifth in the 200 (25.20); Brian Lemon was second in the 300m hurdles (48.01) and third in the long jump (18-0); Cody Brooks was fourth in the 1500m (4:59.01); Aidden Williamson was fifth in the 3000m (12:15.10), A.J. Devereaux was fifth in the 800m (2:28.53) and fifth in the 1500m (5:00.86); Owen Chapman was seventh in the discus (89-8); and Timmy Stratis was eighth in the 400 (57.93).
The 4x100m relay team was fourth (48.46) and the 4x400m squad was fifth (4:26.32).
The Red Devils also competed in an earlier meet at Cottage Grove.
Katie Chapman won the girls’ 3000m (12:00.54) and the 100m hurdles (20.23) to go with a second in the 400m (1:08.58).
Audra Chapman finished third in the high jump (4-4), fourth in the pole vault (6-6) and third in the 400m (1:11.31).
Letts was sixth in the 100m (15.94) and Mackenzie Smith was seventh in the long jump (11-4 1/4).
Williamson placed second in the boys’ 3000m (11:42.15) with Gabe Carroll fifth (12:47.56) and Stratis sixth (12:50.92).
Stratis was also fourth in the shot put (33-0) and Owen Chapman was eighth in the discus (89-10).
