Creslane Elementary fourth graders brought historical figures to life during their annual Wax Museum, held May 3 at the school. Students choose a historically important social, political, science, sports, music, literary or other figure, learn about them with the help of their teachers, Marie McCulley, Dean Karcher, Brittney Davenport and Maria Saputo, and develop a short biographical script. On the night of the event, students dress up as their chosen person and pose as if they were a figure in a wax museum. Then, whenever a family or community member steps on the ”button” on the floor in front of them, that historical figure ”comes to life” and delivers their biography, then resumes their statue-like posture.
