Robert and Marie Raymond, longtime residents of Dorena and current residents of Creswell, are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house on April 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cottage Grove Masonic Center, 33322 Row River Road. All family and friends are welcome.
Both born in Cottage Grove, Robert and Marie met in grade school when Robert was in fourth grade and Marie was in third grade. They were married on April 10, 1952 at Row River Church in Dorena – the very first wedding ever held in that church.
Robert is retired from the timber industry and Marie is a retired secretary from South Lane School District.
The open house is hosted by Marie and Robert’s children, Danny and his wife Karen Raymond, of Springfield, and Denise Parent, of Cottage Grove. They also have six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
No gifts, please!
