OBOB contestants read to success

Creslane Elementary School students with a passion for reading recently competed in the Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) and will make their way to regionals at Thurston High School on March 10. Students who participate in OBOB are to read 16 books, and are then asked to answer specific questions about their reading.Out of eight Creslane teams and after four battles, SJ Squared stole the show with 170 points after four battles. From left are the SJ Squared team: Joanna Spriggs, fifth grade; Sophie Bonn and Jordyn Lee, third grade; and Savannah Bonn, fifth grade grade. Second place at Creslane went to Team Savage Storm with a score of 157. Team Savage Storm was comprised of readers Bryce Lamborn, Luke Bailey and Tek Lawson, as well as Mateus Archibik, who was chosen to serve as the alternate member of SJ Squared at regionals.
