Sandra K. Massey, 67, passed away at 1:53 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in her home here in Creswell, Ore. from lung cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, at the Church in Walker, Ore., where she will be laid to rest with her mother and stepfather and older brother. Pastor David Mossholder will be officiating the services.
Sandra was generous with words of wisdom. She was pure in her exchanges and simplistic in her love, it was unconditional and unwavering and at times undressed. She would give her opinion without flinching or apologizing, but she never dismissed you for your choice, and always welcomed you home when it did not work out. She was a dedicated, honest woman who worked hard all through her life.
There was no denying that you saw her entire life in all that she had and all that she did. Sandra was born on January 16, 1954, to Betty Jane and Charles McAllister in Richmond, Calif. She graduated from South Umpqua High School, while working at Roseburg Lumber and the Pinecone restaurant in Canyonville, Ore. On Nov. 9, 1971, she then married the love of her lifetime Thomas W. Massey. They lived in Cottage Grove, Ore. and she later gave birth to her only child, a daughter, Delilah Dawn Massey (Garrison) on April 22, 1976. She had spent most of her life working in lumber mills such as Georgia-Pacific, and Murphy Plywood, in which she retired after 30 years. She had spent 16 years living in Junction City, until she sold her house to move back down to Creswell to be with her daughter and son-in-law.
Sandra is survived by her sister Tammy Anderson (Few), her brother Eugene Victor Anderson, a brother Macky McAllister, a sister Shirley McAllister, her daughter Delila Garrison and her son-in-law Daniel Garrison, two nephews Jeremy and Jacob Few, her grandchildren: Rachelle Powell, Aaron Powell, Kylie Garrison, Casey Garrison, Haylee Garrison, and her great-grandchildren: Michael (lollipop) Garrison, Kaia, Emberlynn, Mirelle Powell.
Sandra will be deeply missed, she gave light to every day, and always had something to give if you needed it. She had a heart of gold and a creative mind. I will truly miss you, Mom. I love you so much, my life will never be the same without you in it.
