Roberta Mae Chapman was born in Mabel, Oregon on April 27, 1933. She grew up in Cottage Grove and later moved to Junction City where she graduated from Junction City High School. Roberta married her high school boyfriend, LeRoy Joseph Chapman, on March 22, 1952 at the Junction City Methodist Church. They had been married for 65 years when Roy passed away.
