Springfield Public Schools is accepting applications for the recently vacated Position 4 seat on the Board of Directors, following the resignation of Director Nicole de Graff.
The Board plays a vital role in shaping the district’s long-term direction, meeting twice a month to establish policies, approve budgets, and evaluate the superintendent. Applicants must be registered voters, have lived within SPS boundaries for at least a year, and cannot be district employees.
The new member will serve until June 30, 2027, without compensation. Interested candidates can apply by submitting an online application or by picking up a printed application at the District office located at 640 A Street.
The application deadline is July 24 at noon. Interviews will be conducted, and a new Board member is expected to be appointed at the Special Meeting on July 27.
A Board retreat is scheduled for Aug. 5.
