LOWELL – On May 2, at 2:50 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary on Jasper Lowell Road after a resident reported a trespasser on their property. A second call revealed that the suspects had broken into a home and stolen a car from a shop. Investigators identified a black BMW SUV with Oregon plates as the suspect vehicle. Later that evening, around 9:15 p.m., deputies located the BMW in Lowell and initiated a pursuit.
The vehicle drove recklessly on Highway 58 until Oakridge Police Officers deployed spike strips, ending the chase with a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT). The driver, 28-year-old Brendon Andrew Johnson of Sprague River, was arrested and faced multiple charges, including two counts of First Degree Burglary, two counts of Unlawful Use of a Vehicle, and several counts of Reckless Endangerment, among others. He was also wanted on unrelated warrants.
The second suspect, 28-year-old Emily Rose McGinnis of Klamath Falls, was arrested and charged with First- and Second-Degree Burglary, Unlawful Use of a Vehicle, and Theft in the First Degree. She was also apprehended for outstanding warrants.
