Lane Transit District has cut fares by up to 50% with “Dollar Days of Summer,” through Aug. 31. LTD’s fares are being reduced by up to 50%, with $1 adult single rides and $2 day passes. The discount will also apply to other fares and LTD services.
LTD’s Board of Directors approved the fare promotion on May 20 to reduce barriers to accessing public transportation and increase summer ridership, a period of seasonal decline.
“Nearly half the households in Lane County already live with little margin for unexpected costs. When everyday expenses rise, this is a serious strain on working families,” said Alma Fumiko Hesus, president and CEO of United Way of Lane County.
“Affordable transportation matters more than ever. This is a simple way for people to save money and try a different option,” said Jameson Auten, LTD’s chief executive officer.

EUGENE – Lane Transit District and the Oregon Country Fair have partnered again to provide ticketed fairgoers a “fare-free” ride to the annual event in Veneta on July 10-12.
Ticketed fairgoers traveling from both LTD’s Valley River Center Park & Ride and Eugene Station can catch a ride to OCF’s site, west of Veneta on Highway 126. OCF service begins at 10 a.m., with the last departing bus to the fair from Eugene at 7:30 p.m.
To board the bus to OCF, staff will verify passengers have a valid ticket to attend the event. Fairgoers without a ticket will not be allowed on the bus. No tickets are sold on site.
For those biking or driving to the LTD shuttle, use the Park & Ride at Valley River Center (southwest of Regal Cinemas). There is ample parking for cars and bikes at this site. Bikes are not allowed on LTD’s shuttles to OCF.
On Friday, attendees might experience longer wait times for a ride to OCF due to LTD’s regular service commitments to the Eugene Springfield metropolitan area.
