COTTAGE GROVE – The Oregon Aviation Historical Society (OAHS) will host its 12th annual Cottage Grove Wings & Wheels on Saturday at Jim Wright Memorial Field, 2475 Jim Wright Way.
The gathering, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., will showcase an array of modern and vintage aircraft, automobiles, and motorcycles. The event serves as a fundraiser to support the ongoing restoration of historic aircraft housed at the Oregon Aviation History Center.
This year’s exhibition features several notable heritage homebuilt aircraft, including the “Wimpy” aircraft, which recently returned from a year-long display at the Oregon Historical Society in Portland. Attendees can view the society’s latest restoration effort, the Rupert Special. Beyond the machinery on display, the Saddle Up Grub food truck is on-site.
A significant addition to the event is “Kidsville Airport,” with hands-on aviation-themed activities and adventures. General admission is $5 for adults and children 12 and older.
