On June 4, at about 9:30 a.m., Harold Bachelder, 70, of Springfield, was reported missing by his wife from his residence in the West Centennial area of Springfield. Stephanie Bachelder last observed her husband at home when she went to bed at around 11 p.m. on June 3. Harold is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Sundowner Syndrome. Officers checked the area both on the ground and by drone, but were unable to locate Harold.

Veneta man arrested for murder
At about 9 p.m. on June 3, LCSO responded to the report of a shooting in the 87000 block of Huston Road in Veneta. Deputies discovered one person deceased, identified as 40-year-old Mark Thomas Tierney. During the investigation, detectives arrested the shooter, 63-year-old Martin Grant Tierney, for Murder in the second degree and Unlawful use of a weapon. Martin Tierney was lodged at the Lane County Jail.
