SPRINGFIELD – Caesar, the “no drama llama,” remains unfazed by the crowd at Alton Baker Park. At 11 years old, this therapy llama has visited around 300 nursing homes and 200 schools, and participated in numerous charity events across southwest Washington. “This is his purpose in life,” says his handler, Larry McCool. At the NAMI event, Caesar’s role is simple: pose for photos, soak up hugs, and provide comfort.
