He has risen: Celebrating the miracle of resurrection

Spring! I love a country morning in the springtime! As I stand in our backyard, I hear the birds sing, the bright yellow daffodils bring joy to my heart, the new green leaves in the trees, and then the call of geese as two pairs fly overhead. The light wind brings a chill as it finds a way through my coat. I love a country morning in the springtime!

My mind begins to think of what I have been reading, and I go back to that morning so many years ago. I think of Mary as she trudges toward the tomb. She is tired, she has not slept well, and she feels the sorrow deep within her soul. They have crucified her Lord!

The Sabbath is over, and she and the others may finally go to the tomb to anoint His body with oil and herbs. But who will roll the stone away? Her mind goes to Martha and Mary and how Jesus had awakened their dead brother. A flicker of hope lies in her heart; if only … But then! The stone has been rolled away! And a being as bright as the sun sits there! Telling me that He is risen! I must … I must run and tell … everyone!

Indeed, He is risen!

Through His sacrifice, our sins are forgiven!

Rejoice, He has conquered death!

Go and tell everyone!
