Gary Kenneth Zimmerman Winnop passed away on March 11, 2026. Born in Portland, Oregon, he grew up along the McKenzie River and remained deeply connected to its outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing with his brothers. He served in the U.S. Air Force, later working in Alaska’s logging industry and with his family’s business. Gary built his career at the Nevada Missile Base before retiring to La Pine, Oregon. He enjoyed quiet days with his dog, Jiggs, and time with family and friends.
He is survived by his sister, Vickie, his brother-in-law, Jeff, and his extended family. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers.
