Boys and girls tennis

■ THURSTON: Peyton Reed finished second in the league in doubles and fifth at state last year before moving to No. 1 singles this year. Mason Spain, a four-year varsity player, and junior Tyler Jagles take over at No. 1 doubles for the Colts, who placed second at districts last year. Bill Matheus, a state champion in wrestling, is playing No. 2 singles. Lyra Snyder, Karlie Wilson, Brook Marchant, and Ashlyn Goff all return on the girls side after helping the Colts finish third at districts last year. Thurston has 27 girls and 22 boys, including 16 returnees on the girls side and 10 on the boys side, playing this season. Husband-and-wife John and Stephanie Lovdokken were both named coach of the year last season.

■ CRESWELL: The girls team consists of five returning girls and one new freshman: Sophie Bonn, Isabella Bolanos, Katie Bolanos, Savannah Johnson, Lily Fox, and Chloe Miller. All are second-year players except for Miller.
