Calling all Springfield canines!

SPRINGFIELD – The City of Springfield is now accepting photo submissions for its 2027 Canines for Clean Water calendar. Dog owners can submit one photo per dog from March 20 to April 6 using the official entry form at bit.ly/pickmypooch. Entries via social media or email will not be accepted.

Twelve selected dogs will receive professional photography and be featured in the calendar, which promotes pet waste cleanup and water quality protection. The free calendars will be distributed later this year at local pet businesses and City facilities.

Since 2012, the Canines for Clean Water calendar has aimed to combat stormwater pollution, as pet waste can contaminate local waterways, including the Willamette and McKenzie rivers. Springfield is home to around 9,355 households with dogs, generating over 7,000 pounds of waste daily.

Residents are encouraged to take the “Scoop the Poop” pledge to ensure pet waste is disposed of properly. To qualify, both the dog and owner must live within Springfield city limits.
