Pelroy the right choice for a better board of leaders

Dear Editor,

East Lane County voters need better representation on the Lane County Board of Commissioners than the tax-and-spend ideas of the incumbent running for re-election. Candidate Jake Pelroy has extensive experience in policy matters and wants to bring a pro-business, pro-private-property-rights perspective to the board.

It is very difficult in Lane County for business owners and property owners to operate their businesses and use their land because of the onerous regulations that Commissioners like Heather Buch have pushed on local residents. She would like property and business owners to shut up and pay higher taxes, rather than give them a voice in local regulations that affect them.

Pelroy wants to shift the Board of Commissioners’ priorities to be more responsive to local businesses that provide jobs for local residents. He also wants to make it easier for property owners to use their property as they choose.

Pelroy is also in favor of increasing the Lane County Sheriff patrols to make the county safer for its residents. A vote for Pelroy is a vote to improve Lane County government for its residents.
