Mildred ‘Bobbie’ Mahoney: April 2, 1945 – Feb. 28, 2026

Bobbie Mahoney (Mildred Roberta Werder) of Springfield, OR passed away February 28, 2026, in Eugene, Oregon.

Bobbie was preceded by her parents, Mildred and Hayes Werder, and her husband, Patrick E. Mahoney, whom she married in 1976. “Third time is a charm,” she had said, and it really was. (Bobbie had been married twice before, had two boys with her first husband, Duane Borns, and, for a very short time, was married to Ronald Chaples.)

Bobbie, a 1964 graduate from Springfield High and also through classes at L.C.C., was able to get a job at J.C.Penny’s doing data entry and other work. Becoming self-sufficient.

Pat & Bobbie were known as a package deal as the caretakers of the E.E.G.C. for 20-plus years.

Pat & Bobbie taught Hunter safety. They enjoyed square dancing and the outdoors.

Bobbie is survived by her sons, James and  Robert Borns, and daughter, Tara Crooks, and her grandkids, Justin Borns, Zell Draw, Sara Borns, & Grace Crooks. Also, her sister’s Helen Noel, Cindy McGarvey, and Cathy McGilvery.

Bobbie loved early mornings, eating breakfast with her dad before he left for work, and reading. She believes that if you can read, you can do anything.

Bobbie didn’t want a memorial.

She will be missed.
