SPRINGFIELD: The No. 2 Millers (19-2) won their only game last week, beating No. 16 Eagle Point (11-9) 66-32 on Thursday. The Millers have not lost to a Class 5A opponent this season. Springfield has been battling No. 1 Redmond (19-1) for the top spot in the state rankings all season. The Millers are still No. 1 in the Midwestern League.
THURSTON: The No. 18 Colts (8-13) lost both their games last week. On Tuesday, the Colts fell to No. 19 in Class 6A Lake Oswego (11-9) 37-31. Then on Friday, No. 3 Crater (18-4) took care of business 82-13. The Colts stay in place at No. 18 in the Class 5A state rankings.
COTTAGE GROVE: The No. 15 Lions went 1-1 last week. First, the Lions fell to No. 4 Marist (14-5) 54-35 on Tuesday. Mariah Bailey led the Lions, scoring 20 points and collecting three rebounds. On Friday, the Lions bounced back to beat No. 26 Marshfield (3-18) 56-23. Makya Alsup had 22 points and eight rebounds, leading all scorers. The Lions climbed one spot in the Class 4A rankings.
CRESWELL: The No. 4 Bulldogs (18-6) west 2-0 last week. First on Tuesday, the Bulldogs took care of business at No. 25 Elmira (11-12) 45-37. Elliette Kinney scored more than half the team’s points with 25. Then on Friday, the Bulldogs took down their crosstown rival No. 8 Pleasant Hill (16-8) 45-20.
PLEASANT HILL: The No. 8 Billies went 0-2, and dropped two spots in the Class 3A state rankings. On Tuesday, the BIllies fell to No. 5 Sisters (19-5) 46-37, then on Friday No. 4 Creswell (18-6) beat the Billies 45-20.
