Freeze frame: Lane County faces cold front

Frost has been coating the southern Willamette Valley, with a record low of 18 degrees on Jan. 25. High temperatures have been hovering around the mid- to high-40s. Chronicle photographer Bob Williams captured the frozen fog at Mount Pisgah during a morning hike over the weekend, enjoying the solitude of the area at dawn. Although it was too cold for him to carry his professional equipment, he was able to capture the scene on his iPhone. The week ahead is expected to bring milder daytime temperatures in the high 50s, with overnight lows in the high 30s.
