Suspect wanted for menacing in Glenwood

GLENWOOD – On Jan. 13 at 7 a.m., deputies from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded to a physical dispute at the intersection of East 14th and Lexington avenues in Glenwood. They spoke with several individuals involved in the incident and witnesses, and reviewed surveillance footage from a nearby business. Deputies have established probable cause to arrest a male for multiple offenses, including Assault in the 4th Degree, Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Harassment. Details regarding his identity are limited, but he is believed to frequent the Glenwood area. During the incident, a group of mothers with children were waiting for a school bus. They confronted a suspicious male who then threatened one of the victims with a handgun. One victim attempted to seize the weapon, after which the suspect either pocketed the gun or the victim retained it until it fell to the ground. The victims then retrieved the firearm while the suspect struck them with a backpack and other items. An area resident intervened by hitting the suspect with a baseball bat, prompting him to flee to a nearby residence. Upon their arrival, deputies initially detained a male who was identified by witnesses as being involved in the incident. However, he was later determined not to be connected to the dispute and was arrested for possession of methamphetamine instead. Have information?
